Sailing Charters in Phuket
Amadeus
AMADEUS
is a 12,70m/42ft aluminium fast cruising catamaran, custom built for Wolfgang
in Brisbane, Australia. The stability of a cat is surely a plus for those
not blessed with sealegs, her shallow draught opens great exploring possibilities.
Deck space is huge, so you have plenty of room for sunbathing or you can
just lie in the netting and watch the water rush by.
The large, deep cockpit and lifelines with netting all around
the boat make her very safe to take small children on. The
cockpit as well as the deck are well shaded by canopies giving
protection from the sun and the odd tropical shower.
Inside there are 2 queen size double cabins, as well as 2
singles to accommodate the maximum of 6 guests. In case of
private-or full boat charter, up to 8 guests can be catered
for. Cabins are light and airy, they have opening hatches
and fans. Additionally all portholes, hatches, and doors have
mosquito screens. If you wish, you can of course also sleep
on deck under the stars!
The
cosy saloon has ample seating and there is a hi-fi stereo system with
a large music library. Wolfgang believes, that his trips are more interesting
than watching TV, so there isnt any.
The navigation station has all the necessary modern electronics,
for communication there are VHF and SSB radios.
AMADEUS is sloop rigged, with an easy to handle mainsail and
roller genoa. A large cruising chute is used for down wind
light conditions, the mainsail boom is high above the cockpit
and therefore safely out of the way. The yacht can easily
be sailed by one skilled person, but you are welcome to lend
a hand! Wolfgang will be happy to teach you the basics of
sailing and navigation.
AMADEUS is fully equipped as a diving vessel so she carries
tanks, compressor, weights & belts, emergency oxygen and
has 24 hr/day charging facilities for strobes and torches.
Five full sets of diving gear are carried in case you do not
have your own. Specially designed tank racks near the cockpit
make kitting up and -off a minimum of fuss. Between dives
the BCs can remain on the tanks which are quickly filled
by the powerful compressor. This compressor is situated way
forward and the noise is minimal.
The aft deck has a dive platform and two ladders. The RIB
tender facilitates drift dives (plenty of those in Burma !)
and obviously is used a lot for shore explorations. Dive tuition,
along PADI guidelines, is possible but normally on full-boat
charters only, please inquire.
All diving is under the guidance of a qualified
divemaster. Diving is non limit, the number of dives per day
depends on the guests preferences, but averages 2-3
plus a night dive.

Lizard of Oz
Lizard
of Oz is a truly amazing yacht, easy to sail and very quick to say the
least. On a blustery passage from Phuket to Langkawi
we reached a mean average of 16,5kts going to windward! Still, her stability
and lack of heel kept the going comfortable, even for those whose stomachs
were not made of reinforced concrete!
This yachts minimal draught opens the
possibility to go exploring in creeks and shallows where most
other boats would get stuck long before.
Lizard of Oz offers spacious accommodation
for up to eight guests in four spacious, private cabins. Each
cabin has its own toilet, the yacht has two showers
below and a deck shower as well. All cabins are light and
airy and have opening hatches and portholes.
Lizards navigation station features
all modern navigation equipment and for communication there
are VHF and SSB radios.
The
cockpit is spacious and shaded. Netting on the lifelines around the boat
make her a safe vessel to take small children on. The uncluttered deck
offers acres of space and one can also laze in the netting between the
bows.
Lizard is sloop rigged. Her mainsail has
a sail stack system which makes it very easy to handle. The
genoa is roller reefed and a large cruising chute provides
power in downwind light conditions. The mainsail boom is above
the cockpit roof so it is impossible to be hit by it at any
time, a great safety bonus.
LIZARD OF OZ also offers the possibility
of scuba diving.Tanks, compressor and weights are carried,
other equipment is available on request . Torches and strobes
can be charged 24 hr./day. Between dives the tanks are secured
in the specially designed tank racks on the aft deck and the
BCs can remain on the cylinders.
The compressor is situated forward, it is
electrically driven and therefore very quiet. For entry and
exit there are two specially designed swimladders, the RIB
tender facilitates drift dives and is used for trips to the
shore. All diving takes place under the guidance of a qualified
Dive Master. Tuition is available, courses are taught according
to PADI standards.
